I just realized what this thread was for! Oh how I wish was a little older so I could understand the backwards way of forum technology.

i sit in on a floor in an office with about 25 people.

for the past 30 minutes, about 12 of these people have been recommending (nay - YELLING ACROSS DESKS) BBQ places to each other, along with BBQ tips for "at home" BBQing.

so fucking annoying.

thank you for allowing me to vent.

Do not eat barbecue outside the state of North Carolina.  I had some 30 miles from the state border in Virginia the other night and it's just not the same.

Or, eat it but know that you are not eating real barbecue.  Ha!

Now you hipsters know how it feels when you're talking about "James Retarded" or whatever.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

The rule for me is:
The closer you are to a big city then the poorer the quality of BBQ.

Oh and you also have to be living in the south for this to apply at all.

I do like Carolina BBQ the best - THEY GET THE SAUCE RIGHT! Georgia doesn't really have a unique stamp on BBQ, we just blended memphis with carolina style and refuse to take sides.

I have a book called 50 Hikes in New Jersey.  No presumptions in the title that they'll be "great" hikes or anything.
