it kind of happened to me. i got an email asking me to resend my email and password, which confused me because i had my paypal set up under a different email account.
ANYWAY, i realized later it was a bogus "phishing" website because it had some weird address: _____.paypal.com
but it looked exactly like paypal. i ended up erasing my account and setting up another one using a different email address. i dont mess around; i say, no matter, you did the right thing.
