I'm kind of not fond of Comedy Death Ray anymore. As the length of the podcast grows (that two hour episode was a drag), I'm increasingly not finding time to make for it. Plus, I only really enjoy the character bits. And too many of them have Scott Aukerman trying to fuck up the guest.

Anybody else feeling this way?
Not I. In fact, I think I enjoy it now more than ever.

Although the last one with the Sklars and Scheer wasn't the best, but it still had its moments.

I admit I found the Ben Stiller segment pretty yech, even with Ice T, I do think the show is just getting better.  Every now and then I'll just not find  segment funny, like those eastern European ice skaters, more often than not the show comes together seamlessly, like the episode with the stalker and the comic who was a former basketball coach.  That episode was perfect.

That's the only CDR show I just completely gave up on midway through, probably because I just got sex-talk fatigue. I also hope that someday Scott puts some stuff into the comedy music rotation that isn't ironic R&B/rap about awkward romance and/or boning. These are my only complaints about an otherwise excellent show that deserves some sort of Pulitzer for the Cyber Thug episode with Jesse Ventura.

Don't judge, but when they talked about how the guy who plays Oscar the Grouch fit in to their whole social group I kind of lost it.

The ironic R&B about doing people does get kind of old. Also I'm not really on board with the whole 'Weirder Scott' thing, but overall, I am pro-CDR.

The Oscar thing was funny, come to think of it.  And it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they got rid of the music, either.  Even really, really funny people are not able to write funny songs.  It's a flaw of the genre.

This is, literally, Scott's interview style, as he has put it himself.  I recommend trying to embrace it, as it reaps some nice dividends occasionally.

What's this about ironic R&B?

. . .an otherwise excellent show that deserves some sort of Pulitzer for the Cyber Thug episode with Jesse Ventura.

The Cyber Thug show with him and Bobby Bottleservice taking on Jerry O'Connell might be even better. Half the people in the studio were busting up over Bobby's dumb put-downs of O'Connell.

That's one for the ages. Non-stop foolishness and mayhem. O'Connell did a good job as pissed off straight guy: 'Yes. I am above 'Flavor Of Love''.

Was that actually him.  I always thought it was an impression.  Like PFT's John C Riley.

Very true, and I was fooled by the John C. Reilly impression. Whoever it was, nice job with the pissed off straight guy routine.

It was, in fact, Jerry O'Connell.  He and Jerry Minor are pals from their days on "Carpoolers."

I've read a lot of "comedy song" bashing in this thread, so I'm not sure how this will be received here but in the most recent CDR episode (49) Scott played a song called Midnight Party (http://www.shoddyradio.com/index.php?id=73) from my podcast called Shoddy Radio. (http://www.shoddyradio.com/) I just wanted to point out that that song was written live on our show and then recorded right after and attached to the end of the podcast. Anyway the song makes a lot more sense if you hear the episode we wrote it on before you hear the song but I was still THRILLED to hear it being listened to and critiqued by major Hollywood celebrity types. If anyone cares to hear the episode it was written on (it's not our best) it's at http://www.shoddyradio.com/index.php?id=36 and may I add that even before this I've always really enjoyed the musical interludes on the show.
This podcast is usually funny

What's the deal with the frequency of all these podcasts?

So many of them go for weeks at a time without posting anything. I understand why that is on a practical basis (real life, people, responsibilities)...

but say... superego for example... is there any sort of schedule?
