Boy, this is a bad one.

Not least because in the first line he pronounces the word "perfeck."

Question: should people with bad pronunciation be singers?

I think you know the answer.

That's the spirit.

America no longer has to kill its idols, now we can just dismiss them for minute failings.

I've never really thought of Aaron Copland as "country music", but OK, whatever. And it's GREAT. Help me out, Stan.

Copland is not country, but he was certainly going for that vibe with that composition.  I can see the twirling dresses at the contra dance when I hear Hoedown.

Don't get me wrong, Dave. I like a lot of ELP.  But some of my favorite bands make bad choices (I still think For the Benefit of Mr. Kite is one of my least favorite songs). ELP also bummed me out when I saw them footage of them covering Dave Brubeck.

just listened to the 7/3/07 episode again where tom plays Cowboy Star for the first time.

for some reason i had it in my head I was mixing up cowboy star with a different awful song example tom played, it was like this insane country rap song.

am i imagining things?

I think it's safe to say that every Worst Song Ever is just worse than the last Worse Song Ever ... And that it will be dethroned within the year.

Yeah, that thing is puff pastry. It lacks the concerted effort and ego of a musician who is 100% sure they've created the best song ever, and we're lucky to hear it. Let's see their fancy computer replicate that!
