Up here in Canada we have Vanilla and Chocolate Girl Guide cookies. I think that's it.

Yep. And they're both pretty shitty.

You guys are way, way ahead of Canada when it comes to snack foods.

Honestly, Girl Scout cookies - when you really look at them - are actually pretty bad. They redeem themselves by appearing at your doorstep just as you start to forget that you actually had ordered them. It is the "someone bringing you cookies to your door" factor that is the appeal. For me anyway. Even a mediocre cookie is great when someone brings you a box of 'em.

But I do buy them every year. And I do eat them.

Reopening this since (1) it is Girl Scout Cookie season and (2) the new Thank You Berry Munch cookie is a contender for best cookie (despite its horrid name).

I bought Samoas for the first time this year and man those things are delicious and I rarely like cookies or sweets in general. I wish I would have bought a couple more boxes because the cookie season is over in Minnesota at least. There was an article in the local paper how this year Girl Scouts received the cookies in advance so they could provide customers with the cookies right away but that now most scouts have a ton of boxes to bring back. That's a problem I could have helped with!

I wouldn't go so far as to call the brother, fat. I mean, he's Samoan.  So of course he's fat.

Not sorry to see the shortbread polling badly.  My gf just told me she gave hers away--they tasted too chemical-y.

Tagalongs are my favorite, followed closely by the thin mints. The samoa cookies have never done it for me honestly.

Thank you.  I have the same order of preference.  I don't get this Samoa love.

I like the shortbread cookies but it's not like one brand of shortbread cookies is much different than the next.  You may as well get Lorna Doones.  And I feel dumb buying such a simple cookie; feels like I ought to bake them.  Shortbread cookies do dip in tea well.  Normal English biscuits and graham crackers, their nearest American "flavor buddy," disintegrate.  What's called for is a simple cookie that holds together well when dipped.

I don't like Samoas b/c coconut is texturally the worst thing to eat ever. I'd rather eat raw human flesh.
Too soon?

Hmmm...I just thought of a stunt for next year's marathon that I will suggest to Ken and Andy.

How can you enjoy the texture of coconut? It's like eating paper or styrofoam, but worse

Patton Oswalt discussed this on Twitter recently.  Frozen thin mints are the best.

Do you ever fly Delta?  A first for this forum, a crossover with the Flyertalk discussion board.  Delta's Biscoff cookie is outstanding when dunked in coffee, of all things.  Even airplane coffee.
