I genuinely thought it was racist when I watched it
That slipped by me - what about it was racist? (My wife says she thinks Tim & Eric is racist against white people, and she kind of has a point.)
and the haircut on that one guy makes me sick. You know the one I'm talking about.
Yes. Yes I do. But I think his haircut is adorable.
Admittedly I was a bit drunk at the time I watched these and it was a few whiffens past, but that magical voodoo man in black face from one of the episodes really hit me the wrong way, particularly the horribly offensive stereotypical black-cent. You may have to look it up to know what I mean. Obviously I still hold something of a grudge, mainly because I expressed this opinion publicly and now have been painted into a corner by my own words.
I should point out that this character was an isolated incident from of the 3-4 episodes I saw, but it just struck me as super racist, much in the same way that British people can be 100 times more ignorant than the most ignorant American about any culture outside their own, yet manage to make it seem amusing and old-timey instead of offensively ignorant. (See also: The Golliwog episode of Extras, even though that didn't bother me nearly as much, because Extras was also funny).
As to the hair, what can I say. Seattle is also full of hipster scum, who are not at all adorable. Also, I feel old, and the music is too loud, hippy.
