The WFMU Marathon Finale was held at Maxwells in Hoboken NJ last night. This was the first one I had ever been at and I had a great time. It was also the first time it was open to the public. I took a night off from my bar and it was well worth it. It was great seeing the many FMU personalities performing their fav songs.
Of course Tom Scharpling blew the roof off the place with his rendition of Bob Seger's Hollywood Nights.
Here are some pics from the night.

That's station manager Ken Freedman in a stunning outfit at the broadcast table set up in Maxwells window looking out onto Washington St.

Frangry performs Danzig's Mother.

Chris T performed Johnny Cash's Boy Named Sue.

More of that crazy Ken Freedman. I can't remeber the song he did but it was fabulous.

The crowd at Maxwells loving it.

In the end the station collected well over a million dollars exceeding last year's goal. And Ken Freedman noted to the crowd that the Best Show broke all previous records even exceeding Nacham's AM Show. That is no small feat!
