I didn't hear why you got dumped. Seemed pre-emptive to me.

If you were GOMPed unfairly, I do apologize. I was on edge with the calls, and the guy was being such a great sport that I didn't want someone calling up and doing something mean. And reading some of the more irreverent comments in the chat -  the Bronson Pinchot stuff -  made me feel like someone was gonna try to do stuff So if I jumped the gun and GOMPed you before you got out a real question, I am sorry.

Tom.

That chat room is a den of iniquity, a veritable cesspool.

As disenchanted as I have become with Mr. Smith, I have to admit that MANY of the stories he tells are hilarious.  This is probably the best, but the Prince story cracked me up, too.

I still love his first three movies, and I always will.

Agreed, people in the chat are unnecessarily harsh at times. I think that just follows from the tenor of the show. I've even found myself making comments like, "I checked out xyz. I'm inclined to think it sucks. Didn't love it, but maybe should give it a chance. Or not. What do others think?" I think that's a pretty common mind-set among FOT. There are plenty of decent comedians, movies, TV shows, etc. that get panned by FOT, but don't really deserve to.

Also, I understand Tom keeping the callers on a leash, and the negativity to a minimum, considering there's already so much of it flowing around. No doubt, that means he's GOMPed a number of people that he might have later regretted hanging up on. But Tom's gotta guide the show, and he does it ably. If it were my show, I'm sure I'd make the mistake of letting callers say pretty much anything, and that wouldn't be good.

I should have added that Captain Ron is really underrated.

I thought the caller was gomped for talking about Cabin Boy.  I had confused two nautically themed comedies.
