Just read part of the AV Club Random Roles interview with George Wendt weirded me out- felt like something from a Scharpling & Wurster call:

AVC: I have a hazy memory of seeing you on Friday Night Videos back in the mid-’80s, co-hosting with John Ratzenberger, and you each got to pick one video during the show. And if I’m not mistaken you picked “King Of The Hill” by the Minutemen.

GW: I may have. I was a big fan of the Minutemen. Unfortunately their career only lasted about a minute. D. Boon had that tragic auto wreck. But I still listen to various Mike Watt projects.

Any other unexpected music tastes from random celebrities?

I think Conan O'Brien said in an interview that he's a big Radiohead fan.

The benchmark for unlikely celebrity music tastes, for me, has always been Sherman Hemsley: noted superfan of Can, Neu!, and Tangerine Dream.

There was a 1988-1989 NBC sitcom called Day by Day that featured Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Courtney Thorne-Smith, and a young Thora Birch.  The family's son was played by the guy who played Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch feature films -- the show's most famous episode involved a The Brady Bunch fontasy sequence.  Anyway, I recall an episode that had a guest spot from George Wendt, who, I think, played the Brady dude's uncle.  There was a scene in which Wendt's character was telling him about The Replacements.  He may have also referenced Husker Dude.

I remember that show, and yet, I have no memory of Julia Louis Dreyfus being on it. But I do recall that NBC (briefly) tried to position the Grey Brady Guy as a young heart-throb. He sorta ran away with the show after a while.

Can't remember his name, but I remember he went on to voice Peter Parker/Spiderman in one of his many animated incarnations.

I remember the show, especially the Brady episode and thought it was hilarious at the time. It had most of the original Brady cast and they did great parodies of themselves.
