It's a testament to Patton's (and Conan's) quality that I sat through Ryan Seacrest and Chickenfoot to not miss a moment.

He also had bright red hair that looked like conan's ... was that on purpose?

I think he was wearing one of the wigs that the little kids were wearing in the bit at the beginning of the show.

No no no! That's not what I meant at all!

I was joking around that sometimes I visit this forum forgetting that it's FOT-related. It was a self-deprecating comment to make me look like a dunce.

Don't worry Pidgeon, I got what you were saying, because I do this all the time too. I actually almost posted here once that PFT was going to be on an upcoming show - FACE. PALM.

I think some of these Patton fanboys owe you an apology though, AHEM!  ;D

I think almost all comedians use pre-written material on talk shows, and most or all of the celebrities have most or all of their conversation plotted out beforehand.  Or if they don't it might come off an incoherent piece of crap like Ryan Seaquest's stabs at mocking Simon Cowl before Patton came on.

Seacrest's interview struck me as being very odd. It sounded like Conan would ask him a question to set him up for a story and then Ryan answered him with the wrong stories.

My sense was that the idea was that ryan was going to rib simon, but it seemed like conan was setting him up, assuming he had something good, but then ryan was trying to improv the ribbings or something and conan seemed (to me) genuinely annoyed.  I think conan said something like "You've managed to alienate everyone in the world" after seacrest made some angela lansbury(berry?) crack, which, maybe I'm projecting, but I took to be kind of half-sincere, as in "You are an asshole".

you probably are projecting.

Personally (now, this is coming from the guy who found the Kevin Smith interview on the Mike Show endearing) I felt for Seacrest  when he 1)talked about being a fat kid and the obvious pain behind that and 2)faced the music on the whole blind high five thing (which I think he handled as well as anyone possibly could have).

I'll give him the high five thing, but I couldn't help thinking of Paul F. Tompkins' bit about how people like it when beautiful hollywood actresses were tomboys as kids, but no one is on board with handsome hollywood men that were sissies.

i see your point on this because that's a PFT bit heightened in hilarity through the "it's funny because it's true" creed.  however, i will say, i feel for people who were on the bottom of the social totem pole in their youth and now are at the top of the hollywood go-to guy food chain.  you cant help but feel good about that victory.

Conan's past few shows have got some pretty shitty ratings, I'm worried.

Does shitty mean "higher than Letterman?"  Because they are (though apparently they've been declining since the premiere).
