I'll be honest, I haven't heard a ton of albums from this year. But here are some that I did like.

Dirty Projectors-Bitte Orca
Grizzly Bear-Veckatimest
Jay Reatard-Watch Me Fall

I'm not so sure about the last choice. But the first two are good albums.

The new Bibio is basically the perfect Warp album.  The perfect summertime Warp album.

I've just been listening to Asher Roth exclusively. That's cool, right?
You look like a really healthy Arthy Lang.

Just this:

I can hang with that Dinosaur Jr. album for about 6 tracks, then it just goes on and on.   The cd era is over, let's stop padding these things out.

There's been some good stuff this year. Not like last year. 2008 had a ton of cool stuff. Here's a few off the top of my head:

Abe Vigoda - Reviver
Dan Deacon - Bromst
The Thermals - Now We Can See
Tara Jane O'Neil - A Ways Away
the Underwater Peoples Summertime Showcase

Lot of cool stuff coming up too, the Ettes, Vivian Girls, Yo La Tengo, the Reigning Sound, Jay Reatard, and I'm sure there's some other stuff I'm forgetting, don't know about, have yet to hear about, etc.

which is all kinds of great. Also

ooooooooh, thanks for reminding me.  Major Lazer comes out on vinyl today.  Too bad I hurt by back at the gym or I'd be doing my dancehall dance all day in my office.

The Thermals - Now We Can See

I'm happy you like it, methanolcereal, but I was let down by it big time.  After "The Body, the Blood, the Machine" this one seemed pretty tame and the lyrics were just not up to snuff.

But maybe I'll give it another shot.
