That Megan Fox air stewardess sure loved Monk.

I liked the oh shit face the new girl made when she dropped the f-bomb. Funniest part of the episode.

Quick! Someone paste the Ernie Anastos co-anchor somewhere and we'll have ourselves a meme!

If you knew "frickin" would be hard to do without easily slipping and actually swearing, why not use "effin"? Or maybe they could spend the summer writing sketches that are actually funny.

Didn't Paul Schaffer drop the F-bomb on SNL years ago? I probably spelled that wrong.

I definitely remember reading that before. People always mention Charles Rocket but it sounds like it's happened a few times before (including musical performances). I think Shaffer's was a similar incident where he said fuck instead of some word that rhymed with it. Does anybody know what the context of Charles Rocket's slip was?

Quote
The February 21, 1981 episode hosted by Dallas star Charlene Tilton featured a parody of the famed Who Shot J.R.? episode of Dallas. In the episode, Rocket was shot in the chest by a sniper while doing a sketch about a sexy couple (with Gail Matthius as his partner) bathing a dog and spouting innuendo. At the end of the show, as cast members traditionally gathered around the host to say good night, Tilton asked Rocket how he felt about being shot. In character, a wheelchair-using Rocket improvised, "Oh, man, it’s the first time I've ever been shot in my life. I'd like to know who the fuck did it", followed by the cast and audience reacting with shock and laughter.

I feel bad for Jenny Slate. I hope she doesn't get in trouble.

I hope they bring Slate back, although NBC will want her head.

Kristen Wiig was a pro and didn't even flinch, but you could see in Jenny's eyes where she suddenly realized "Oh no. I am handling live hand grenades on air."

Then the sketch shifts and suddenly each "frickin'" was now regarded as a potential f-bomb, and everyone is overly conscious of each of these little trap doors coming up in the script. It suddenly became this endurance marathon. I could barely watch.

I saw it online and it sounded like fuck but then went to the episode I DVRed and it sounded like another frick, they must have edited it for the west coast. They should give her a break, first ep and all. At least it's not been blown out of proportion by the media... oh wait.

They edited that for the West? I'm not surprised they did. I don't think Lorne Michaels thought, "it's not fair if I change it for other time zones."

I'll mail my DVR to you. It was so clear I did a double take and said "what?" out loud.

It's online now.  It's pretty clear.  It's live TV, they should give her a break.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I think Will Forte also said "fuckin" in one of the Digital Shorts, but it was "bleeped" so I'm not sure!  Also: bleeping out bad words remains INCREDIBLY FUNNY.  Every time I think Arrested Development took that little game as far as it could go, SNL proves me wrong time and time again.  Zut alors!

Speaking of funny, how about those COLD OPENINGS?!  So taut!  Really tear into current events with razor-sharp blade edge.

Last year in the middle of all the election bullshit, I was AMAZED by how many people kept saying the cold opens were the best part of the show. Man, they're just so awful. And they always seem to go on for 8 minutes.

Yeah, I'm amazed when people say this show has gone down hill. It is what it always was - live TV with lots of awful shit, some mildly funny bits, one or two good sketches. It's supposed to be disposable throw-away comedy.

Don't agree? Go watch a whole show -- the whole goddamn hour and a half -- from whatever cast you think was the best & you'll see what I mean. You'll be tearing your hair out by oh, 40 minutes in.

It baffles me why people bother watching SNL.  Wait for a compilation DVD of the 45 funny minutes from one of the cast member's careers or something.  You'd be better served polishing off any random selection from your Netflix queue than watching that unfunny junk.
