Hey, me and AFK are seeing Mulaney's stand-up tonight. Think he's solid enough with the show mythology that he will have heard of a dfk?

When he sees that box of wine it won't even matter.

Re: Betty White on SNL

Pros: They got an 88 year old lady to essentially do dick jokes for an hour and half

Cons: They got an 88 year old lady to essentially do dick jokes for an hour and half

CSI: Sarasota is basically the funniest thing SNL has done all year long.
Too soon?

I don't get why SNL doesn't assemble an all-star cast one year. Just a one year thing of SNL members who are funny but never broke it really big to come back for a memorable season. So Lorne would have a few more contracts to pay, but it would give his show a much needed boost and probably huge ratings.

Honestly, the cast at this point is the one thing I wouldn't want them to change. It's pretty great.

But horribly misused.  The most talent, by far, but the worst writing, BY FAR.  It was really strange to see the old pros lay waste to the material, too.  The NPR skit (easy laughs, I know, but I loved it) was refreshing compared to What's Up With That? or a lame Obama knockoff.

Absolutely agree with you about the talent level, though.  The evidence of this can be seen on the Vincent Price flashback shows, or the occasional Lawrence Welk skit.  Those are right in my wheelhouse, and they're perfect in nearly every way.

This has been my favorite episode (Betty White) in a long, long while.

I feel like SNL's got me in some Stockholm Syndrome-type situation.

Well it's been a long time since I've had my favorite drink

I would actually say the last couple of years have been better than the late 90's/Will Ferrell era.

The last ten minutes of every SNL should be blackbox improv.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

I really liked "What's Up With That" this week. Yes, I know it's exactly the same thing every time, but the combination of Sudeikis on one side doing that incredible dance, Morgan Freeman's exasperation and especially Borgnine (BORGNINE!) just sitting there grinning for 5-6 minutes; it was frenetically Lynchian.

As much as I want to not like it, the ridiculousness of "What Up With That?" gets me everytime. Especially Sudeikis.

Also, Kanye was pretty great.

Even Lindsey Buckingham cracks me up each and every time. It's literally the same sketch every time, but they could do it every week and I don't think I'd complain. Everyone just seems to be having so much fun.

However I am officially over Kristen Wiig. Her one showcase sketch this week was awful and they now have other women who are funny so... let's just get rid of her.

I assume that Fred was responsible for naming the sparking apple juice duo "The Bjelland Brothers."

I fourth(?) this sentiment. "What's Up With That?" cracks me up every single time. The Galifinakis one was probably the best, but Doo-Doo man and Quickie were pretty good. And the slow-motion Sudekis dance had me in tears.
I'm in my late 50's.

Was Andy Samberg doing something last year? He was barely involved in last season and now he's the most featured player.
