Just watched a Venture Bros. where Stiv Bators and Lydia Lunch are namedropped.  Also noticed that the music is done by Foetus.

Personally as a huge comics nerd The Bros appeal to me especially for all the references to old comics.

You lost me here.

And not to get too technical, but Aqua Teen and Sealab are kind of Second Generation compared to Space Ghost, Ghost Planet, and Brak show.  The stuff Adult Swim is making now is 4th or 5th generation at the very least.  It's been around a while now.

You did get too technical, because you are incorrect.  Adult Swim was applied to Space Ghost well into its production run - seven years in, in fact.  So you can call it "first generation" if you want - I choose not to, because it predates Adult Swim.  I was a fan of SGCTC well before there was an Adult Swim.

And Aqua Teen Hunger Force premiered in December 2000, before Adult Swim premiered in September 2001 (and only nine days after the Brak Show premiere).  Hard to make a case for ATHF being a "second generation" show.

In reference to the old comics, they do Fantastic Four references (the impossibles) a Dr. Strange parody (Dr. Orpheus), the twins pajamas are Aquaman and Spiderman etc.  I think the comics references are pretty obvious don't know how I lost you.

The rest of my statements:
I stand corrected.  I guess I always just thought of Space Ghost as the first generation of Adult Swim because it's what I used to watch until they started running more "adult" cartoons.  Oops.

Me neither.

Nobody?

It's a play on canon and cannon, Martin.

Look at the caption(s). I'm too subtle for you guys.
