This post serves as a public self-flagellation for an earlier post of mine in which I pined for a simpler time. In that post, I suggested that I (and perhaps others) would prefer a few weeks of the Best Show sans celebrities; just Tom and the mic. Well, all I can say after the November 3rd powerhouse (which I just finished) is that I was unequivocally wrong.
WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!
Paul F., John H., and Mr. Reese's Pieces - that was a GREAT SHOW! I kept trying to figure out how to describe it as I was listening to it to a non-listener (because it was so perfect that it seemed REALLY IMPORTANT that more people hear it), and at some point I realized that it wasn't important at all if anybody else ever enjoyed it. It was a perfect 3 hour span, and I was lucky to have received it in the right state of mind, at the right time, and within the right context. WOO!
Mr. Sharpling, THAT was great radio, and I'll never doubt you again.
