A compelling analysis, Jason.  But what's the significance of the captain's hat Bono's wearing?  Initially I interpreted that as an attempt to transmorgify into Bob Pollard. 

It might be worth it to go back and review tapes of the Zoo TV tour and see if there are any clips from Stroszek on those video screens.
