The Pixies on 120 Minutes, 1991
« on: November 23, 2009, 09:19:47 AM »
Just digitized an old VHS tape from 1991. Thought some you folks might like to see some of the most uncomfortable interviews ever recorded (and some live music too).

Here's my post on it, and here's a sample:

That was some painful shit to watch. Thanks for digitizing it, though. Captures a really crappy point in the band's history relationship-wise.

yeah, it's pretty obvious they're not at a very happy place as a band. although most of their ire seems directed at being on the show in the first place.

Blawck Frawncis, why did you decide to play this?
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Dave Kendall was not a gifted interviewer, but he did have a vaguely important sounding accent.

Black Francis was probably upset because this appearance caused him to be late for the Bassmasters tournament.

Dave Kendall was a classic drip.  This is a guy who would NEVER make it on television today.  Maybe this is a guy who can pull off "Morning Becomes Eclectic" but that's about it.  Dave Kendall always seemed lost.
