"Come back, baby" by the Revelators on the We Told You Not To Cross Us album. PM me if you want an mp3.

I saw those guys! As I recall, it was a Revelators/Danko Jones/New Bomb Turks triple bill. I even interviewed the Revelators.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

sounds right as Bill Randt of the new bomb turks played drums on their second album.  jeremiah, the singer, is a pal. they were from my second home town of columbia, missouri. dig up that interview and send it to me!

As always, thanks for coming through folks! Definitely some great suggestions here, which I will surely incorporate into this cd.

The best part of the Hound Dog Taylor legend has got to be this:

"Blues legend Hound Dog Taylor had 6 fingers on each hand. The story has it, he amputated the one on the right hand with a razor blade, while drunk."

he won't be able to handle the bassholes. hell, i can't really handle the bassholes.

the black diamond heavies reminds me: thee immortal lee county killers III is a good one. their last record is probably right up that alley. especially revolution summer or boom boom.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bassholes, but I wouldn't recommend them to a newcomer. "Acquired taste" is putting it nicely.

Too bad he didn't dig the oblivions, but I would give the Gories a go. They seem more rooted and bare bones. There are plenty of treasures of the past that I've noticed many, even of that generation, have missed out on. If he isn't too aware of bands like the Monks or the Seeds then I would hit him with that.

For more contemporary, try the Mayyors. I've played my Deads EP for some friends. The ones I didn't think would like it actually seemed to enjoy it.

He may get into the Melvins' faster-tempo songs, like "Zodiac" and "Suicide In Progress."
