Here's Paul on a recent podcast for three hours being very funny:

He's also on the last TWO episodes of Am I Right??!

Doesn't he fear overexposure?

you shut your filthy mouth!

I, also, patiently wait for my copy of the CD in my mail box.

I've listened to it a few times since I got mine in the mail over the weekend. It's hilarious, as one would expect. The New Dads bit is probably the best thing on it. I really enjoyed listening to the Riff Suite too.

And what can I say about the album art? It raises more questions than it answers. Prepare to be freaked out!  ;D
"You want me to recognize you and I won't. I won't acknowledge you! I deny you. So you keep begging and begging. The door is slammed on you. I want nothing to do with you. You will die unrecognized by me."

Yes. ALL TIME CLASSIC artwork.

Only complaint: A little text on the spine of the case wouldn't have been a bad idea, so I wouldn't have to worry about never ever finding it again once I put it on my CD shelf.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

It's on emusic now too, if you're on there. AND IT'S AWESOME. New Dad is genius.

It totally is! And the "Go Ask Alice" closer had me laughing like an idiot on mass transit. Worth being judged by my fellow commuters!

This album made me think of how people who live together start to sound alike, use the same expressions, share inside jokes, etc.  Unlike "Impersonal", on which I detected only a little bit of Scharplingness, this Freak Wharf feels almost like a "live in the studio" appearance.  Paul may owe Tom some scratch, frankly.  I'll have to go back through it and make special note of the moments that feel particularly "Best Show-ish", but it's palpable.  Wonderful, and palpable.

Palpderful.

Am I wrong?

Anyway... I think it's great.  Is it short, though?  I was just starting to really get comfortable and giggly when all of a sudden, boom, "that's it for me, folks!".

Just got it last night and annoyed all of my co-workers by laughing out loud all the way through the cd... twice. I think my current favorite line is "This year starts with a two, that's nuts. Church is still around. Even God has moved on at this point." Mr. F. Tompkins is doing it right.
You look like a really healthy Arthy Lang.

I liked that line too ... "church ... still hangin' in there!"

The line that got me was, "If you're eating pie filling from the can, there has been a disaster."
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Stupid AST and their slow shipping.

I ordered mine from AST (not a preorder) and got it over the weekend. I think I ordered mine on the 5th or 6th of December.

I also got Brent Weinbach's The Night Shift, which I can honestly call the weirdest thing I've ever heard.

Mine was a preorder. I'm guessing the CDR calendar/Christmas CD is holding things up.

Man, if I'd known how good the cover art is, I would've waited for the CD (instead of downloading mp3s.)  PFT in a captain get up!  With squid legs!  All done in an oil painting!  Damn my luck.

The comedy's alright too, I guess.
