TBS on SNL - The Thread!

So I just saw what I think is another Best Show reference on SNL, after last week's Juggalo sketch. This week, Bill Hader in the football sketch had a very clear "Ewwww boy." I figure they'll be more, so why not  have one single thread, designated for our wild accusations and outrageous royalty demands for Tom. Maybe next week they'll say... "Define intellectual Property."

Well, there is that photo set with Hader wearing his "Newbridge Is For Lovers" T-shirt which suggests he's a fan.  Of course, that shirt could have been picked out for him by the costuming department, so we don't know for sure.

If he IS a fan of TBSOWFMU, then I can't fault him for dropping an "ewww boy" in the fashion of Mr. Scharpling.  A big reason why I took to the Best Show is because Tom and I were already using a lot of similar phrases.  And now that I've been a listener for nearly 2 years, I like to think that Tom speaks through me.

I would assume a lot of comedy types would be avid TBS listeners. I've been noticing a few jokes and references that fly over my head, and I have been frantically googling names, places and references trying to pieces together a better picture of The Best Show Universe.

I haven't watched a current SNL since I was in high school, but I did catch a reference to the "Lucky Metal Chicken Wrap Cone" (can't recall the actual name, or the full name Tom, PFT and the caller gave it) during Conan O'Brien's monologue on the monday after TBS aired.

I feel like Tom, John and even some of the callers have rubbed off on my personality and sense of humor, so I wouldn't doubt it has had an effect on many staff writers of everyone from pod-trash to SNL.

Just to clarify, I'm not busting Best Show nods, but celebrating them. That made my night. And the juggalo thing last week was the best of the season.

the juggalo clip got around online in a huge way..
tom & paul produced a legendary riff.. but it was an extended "skewing of pop culture". unless identical jokes are being made it's fair play for anyone

I think it was an episode of TBS show with either PFT or Patton. Someone called in from Omaha, or some city that has a specific market that makes for a lot of fast food companies test marketing new stuff there. The caller talked about the new sandwich from KFC that was a cone of foil with two strips of battered chicken, and no bread.

This was a while back, and I think either Conan or Fallon mentioned it.
