That story is extremely sad. I've known some great rotweillers in my life, and I can't believe this would happen. It's bad enough that a child was killed in probably the worst way imaginagle, and I'm sure the dog will be put down, which is also terrible. I think that dog's owners should do some jail time.
No pet should be so far out of whack that it would attack a human or even another pet. I've known rotweillers that were afraid of kittens. It's criminal that that dog's thought process was "That is smaller than me and vulnerable, I should attack it now."
Even the most vicious, biggest, scariest dog I ever knew was trained to be on guard while outside the house, but a complete teddy bear when inside. This rotweiller's behavior is either the result of his owner's malicious influence, or neglect.
I've gotta research this story further. This is driving me nuts.
