"I hope God strikes you down with a lightning bolt."

This whole thing is great in itself and also shows some awesome moments in Scharpling history. Or at least they're entertaining moments....

• the episode that ends with the  Eric Carmen-Fleetwood Mac Finale. On paper there's no way this can work, but it's the Best Show, and oh man, does it ever work.
• Bryce's long discussion about Skootch's "sheaf": Neal Armstrong being high and the phrase "Turret Hits".
• The Mother 13/Mt. Everest shows
• This year: PFT & The Gathering Of The Juggalos, Jon Glaser and the birth of Drac Search™ bleh! All the celeb shows were awesome - Glaser, Oswalt, (Strummin' Jungle)  PFT, Aimee Mann, Hodgman, Martin Short, Ted Leo. All classics. If I live to be 150, these will never stop being funny and awesome no matter how many times I hear them.
• The World Is In The Turlet episode.
• I can't recall if it was this year or last, but Tom & PFT's: Commercials that would work better as TV shows and vice versa. They were great, the callers were all great.
• The remote segment where Tom drives to the gas station near the Holland tunnel, playing Zepplin's Physical Graffiti to meet fans, predictably The Leader punks out, Tom buys snacks, dude burns rubber in the parking lot. So great.
• Coffin Talk as the new Party Zone.
• The original ropadope GOMP (GET OFF MY PHONE I DON'T CARE) and the best hang up ever:

Tom: Hey didn't you call before under a different name?
Caller: yeah, I did. I used a different name- because I though you were gonna-
Tom: gonna what?
Caller: oh no, you're gonna hang up on me aren't you?
Tom: no, no, I'm not.
Caller: oh, thank god I thou-
-click-
2 second pause then Tom completely loses it for 10 seconds with what I can only describe as pure glee at the perfection of the timing of the stealth gomp
Tom (still completely losing it):oh, he thought he was safe. Then I got him right at the last minute...
Whatcha eatin' there, some Doritos?
-crunch- uh-hu. -crunchcrunch-
That's great radio. Get off my phone.

Tom chats with Manny about their days as Studio 54 regulars and then serenades him with two Belle & Sebastian songs.

I can't say for sure what my favorite moment of the decade was, but one that comes to mind is a clip someone posted at one point when Captain you-know-who called in. He wouldn't let Tom get a word in and Tom lost his cool and screamed, "GET OFF MY PHONE...FOREVER!" So great.

Yes, I forgot Captain J**k vs. Kid Kansas, too.

"Do you know what that part's called?"
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Yes! for 2009 and Yes! for the Decade.

I think that episode had another favorite 2009 moment for me -- Tom's imitation of Seinfeld on Larry King.

1. The Hesch Rope-A-Dope.

2. "Ugh. I hate music," while trying to keep up with the lyrics that were being submitted for Ted Leo's song.

Juggalo Talk with PFT and singing Belle and Sebastian to that Studio 54 dude are both high on my list.  Two others all-time favorite moments that I don't think have been mentioned yet are

1.) James gets Jamesed, and
2.) Tom methodically ripping apart Billy Crystal's 'Jazzman' performance at that Katrina benefit.

Favorite comedy bits are - Wurster: Kid eBay, and Non-Wurster: Smirnoff Ice District Manager.

Also: the two times that I've been able to introduce someone to the show and been able to listen with them and watch/hear them in real time as they get fooled by a Wurster character.  Those are such precious moments to experience.

Does anyone remember what episode this is? I would really love to hear that bit again.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

For the year? Juggalo ep for sure. I converted like 3-4 people with that episode.

Faves of the decade?

#1 favorite episode ever, PFT on Oct 23th 2007 (2008?). They make fun of Kid Rock, and the Geico Caveman/tv show game is great. Best topic ever maybe.

October 31, 2006 - Tom is in the studio on Halloween, and gets some fun calls. Listened to it a few times in the archives, and then last year on our way moving back from Pittsburgh to Seattle it randomly came up on the ipod playlist ON Halloween 2008 while we were in the middle of nowhere America. Awesome.

Petey calling in and laughing all taunting like Scott Farkus on the first episode of 2008 - around the 32 minute mark of the podcast. That makes me crack up so hard, especially with how annoyed Tom seems during the call. Love it. "I think your friend gave you a gift." (also I think this was Julie's first call, yay!)

The New Years ep where TL and Jillian and co were in the studio. That was a fun episode.

The lady who tried to convince Tom that he was wrong about "I'm Not There".

"I James'd James!"

Plenty more I am sure.

I love Kid Ebay and Mark/Mike? Healy's calls (Oh really?!). I forgot the name but the guy from work who accidentally calls Tom three times.

Also I am drawing a huge blank here but when Petey sings a song while Tom plays a different song? Elton John? I just remember painful laughter.

Also every time Tom sings is a treat. Wise Up and SSMLT.

And Angry Mr. Bungle Fan is def up there.
