I was in Denver doing a play during the stock show in 2007.  In one of the weirder situations I've ever been in in my life, a bunch of us, male and female, went to a big strip club for "research."  The cast of the play was almost entirely Arab, Jewish, or black, and a lot of the crew were gay, and there we were in a room full of strippers and cowboys.  My friend Daoud, who is Palestinian, looked around and said, "I don't know how long I can stay here."  This one pleasant-looking cowboy sitting near us said, "I can't believe you guys brought your girlfriends here."  We tried to explain to him that they weren't our girlfriends, we were all doing a play, and he said, "I can't believe you guys brought your girlfriends here."  Also, it didn't help that we were very high.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I know! Let's take a list of the bands that will be at SXSW this year, and then this list, and make one of nem "This or That?" websites!
Remember how he couldn't stop his leg?

on the subject of Jewish cowboys:

it's okay for me to post that because I'm Jewish.

Anyone ever see Herzog's How Much Wood Could A Woodchuck Chuck? It's a documentary about auctioneers. At least one or two of the guys would later end up in the feature film Stroszek.

Yeah, they would make great band names. Even though I'm still partial to I Hate You! And the Ghost of Anwar Sadat. But maybe that stuff won't fly outside of Billyberg yet.
I can hear you judging me.

I lived in Denver for about 5 years and the stockshow was always a great time. You wouldn't believe some of the mustaches there. The people working the show were usually pretty friendly and it was definitely a highlight of the year.
