Anybody else get email they weren't supposed to get?

I have chosen Ethan for my student of the month for January for his honesty.   The
assembly is Monday, February 1st @ 8:30 in the middle school commons.  Please keep it
a secret, so he’ll be surprised when he receives the award.  Let me know if this email
reaches you.

Thanks,

Oh Wendy, why do you say you value honesty while trying to build a web of secrets around Ethan?

Once I was doing a job for a small company, and the guy who hired me asked me to name a fair price, and I said $175.  Weeks later when the job was done the guy accidentally sent me an email meant for his business partner where he was like "I'm feelin crazy - what do you say we pay him $500 instead? Should we or shouldn't we?"

Ten minutes later I got another email from him, saying "Uhh, I guess I'd look like a dick if we didn't go ahead and pay you $500, so, congrats." That was a good day for me.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

Wow, 4 kisses but she's not positive about their e-mail address. I wish I got more e-mails like this.

That does remind of 4-5 years back, when in a now long since abandoned Yahoo email address, I had received a few misdirected emails concerning wedding plans of some sort. I don't recall any of the details now, but after about the 4th received email, they sent a bridesmaid dress picture asking for "my" thoughts on it.

Yes, that was at least the 4th email I had received. I'm not sure who or from where she was receiving replies, but it wasn't from me.

I got a string of emails from a bunch of young girls from some weird Christian summer camp in September. Apparently the camp let out, and some girl gave her email address incorrectly. One of the girls kept emailing me asking me questions, after about 3 emails telling her I was not who she thought I was, and I was an adult male who felt uncomfortable having email correspondence with a 13 year old. I was sure I was being put on until I got one of those "Hey, blah blah blah, I'm doing good, 8th grade is sooo hard..." emails from some other girl.

Worst mailing list ever. Do tweens not realize that lime green font is hard to read?

Once my 70 year old mom thought she was sending me an email but switched the first and last names and sent them to some dude in Dallas.

That's fine, an understandable mistake. However, she detailed all sorts of digestive and health problems and was pretty embarrassed to get his reply stating that he was not her son.

That said, doesn't anyone else think the original post's email is probably a new form of spam? It's kinda vague, if you get my drift.

Why does that keep happening to people I do work for?

Yeah, it does seem vague enough to be spam. But what could the scam possibly be here? Most spam I've encountered isn't so subtle.

With the school district identified in the email address, the last name I xxxx-ed out, and the rest a class picture came up as the second hit on google.

A friend of mine thinks that artificial intelligence will be invented by spammers. I think he's probably right.
