Things to do in the Sarasota/Lido Beach FL area
« on: January 31, 2010, 05:03:59 PM »
I'm going to be in this part of the country for business next week. Can anyone familiar with the area point me to some fun or interesting record and book stores and/or cool places to eat?
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Well, I've lived there for a while, though I'm not there any more. It's my birthday this week so I've got plans, else I'd try and make it down to say hello.

Firstly, I suppose I should point out my parents' food and wine store. Tell 'em I sent you. Indian food on Thursdays! Plenty of things for vegetarians, which I believe you are.

As for interesting record and book stores: Sorry, no dice! It's an old people town, resolutely.

In the evenings, you could go to the dollar theatre to catch something - Parkway 8.

I'll let you know if I think of more.

I will try to check out your folks' place if I can. Otherwise, I'm thinking it's going to be a long week. My hotel has freaking dial-up in the rooms.
