FOT Marathon Ebay initiative.

I have an idea to help Tom raise money for the station.
You know that crap that lies around your house, the stuff that's too good to throw away and that you tell yourself you're going to sell one day. Ebay it for Tom.

I have a signed Comedians of Comedy poster (slightly worn), Zach, Brian, Maria and Brian and somebody else. Maybe a few other things I'm going to throw up.

If you want to join in then please do.

Put "WFMU FOT" at the end of your title so that anybody wishing to search for the items we're selling can search for that term.

Add this text to the end of your description -

"I am giving the proceeds for the sale of this item to WFMU a non profit radio station (wfmu.org). Please search for "WFMU FOT" to find others who are doing the same."

Post here with stuff you're going to sell. Somehow we'll work out a total and pledge it to Tom's second marathon show.

Maybe somebody can come up with some better wording for the bit we include in our descriptions. I'm tired and I have to go to bed.

Is the station in trouble again or is this just a "this is a good idea, times are tough and the station can of course use a few more bucks" type thing?
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

The station is always in trouble.

Jason, I think this is a great idea.

No it was just an idea I had to help push Tom's total skyward. Looks like it might be falling flat though.

great idea, I am totally on board to get rid of some stuff. my cash donation might not be up to normal this year, so this would be a great way to make up the difference.

It sounds like as good a way as any to get rid of some of my micronauts stuff.  I have never bought or sold anything on ebay.  Is there a wfmu paypal account to transfer the money to automatically?

I have a lousy camera phone but will pick out some items and post them soon.
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

I think this is a good idea, but do you also need boilerplate to indicate that WFMU is not responsible/liable for the transaction? I'd hate to see something go awry with a buyer and it become the station's problem.

I only suggest this because I am an unrelenting pessimist.

This project is now scrapped due to lack of interest.

Peace.

Even though this project has been scrapped, Ebaying your unwanted crap and adding the proceeds to your marathon pledge is a great idea. I did it for the last two years and the only reason I'm not doing it this year is because I don't really have anything that I'm itching to get rid of at the moment.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.
