I have actually gone to this about six months back while I was visiting New York purely by accident. It was actually a really great time. Gabe and Jenny were a great duo, with Eugene Mirman who opened. The vibe is really relaxed and fun. I definitely recommend going if you can, if only just to see what it's like.

Big Terrific is definitely the best way to see a lot of great comedians on a weekly basis, and Max, Gabe, and Jenny are fantastic hosts. I'm blown away that they get it together every week (they all have day jobs too) and they get some serious talent in there as well as people you might not know about but who are damned funny.

The only "down" side to it, if you can call it that, is that is getting more popular and packed. But if you expect that you'll be standing and squeezed in and you're not a whiny baby like I am, you're guaranteed a good time. Or, at least, you have a very good chance to have one. When it finally ends it's going to be one of the shows that people will look back on and marvel at how many quality acts went through there.

Oh, and if you are going there for the first time, they aren't kidding when they say it's in the back of the Lovin’ Cup Café. The first time I went I was only given an address and was completely lost. Luckily, Mr. Mirman was sitting on the bench outside so I knew I had found the right place. Just go right to the back, past the washrooms, and grab a seat if you can.
