guest suggestion: Matt Braunger?
« on: March 15, 2010, 10:29:27 PM »
I just remembered, this dude called and pledged on the first week of the marathon ... he's a funny guy.
Remember how he couldn't stop his leg?

Yeah, I like his album a lot. There are good interviews with him on Am I Right? and Marc Maron's WTF podcast.

I also like the fact that he did a normal-priced vinyl pressing of his album. Sometimes I don't want to pay $25 for a new record.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

This guy and Andy Daly both had to work uphill for my liking as they both appeared on MADtv. I'm glad to say they're truly amazing comics. I wonder who else was hiding talent there?

Artie Lang? Frank Caliendo? but seriously, I heard David Cross was one of the first writers on that show. He's done some good work inbetween MADtv and The Squeakuel.

I know Patton wrote for MadTV in the early days.

Nope, but like TacoSmith said, Patton wrote for it, as well as David Wain, 30 Rock writer Tami Sagher and Mr. Show veterans Dino Stamatopolous and Mike Upchurch, as well as some lesser known people like Blaine Capatch and Colton Dunn.  Plenty of talent involved, but...

Oh, Artie Lang said that he hates David Cross because David was a jerk to him while he was writing on MADtv. Knowing Artie Lang it was probably a cocaine hallucination.

I don't know. I've heard from more than one source that David Cross can be pretty treat people around him pretty harshly when he wants to.

As for the Matt Braunger guest suggestion, I can only repeat what you wrote Reeleyes: Eggly Bagelface.

You guys are the best - thank you!

Matt is seriously a good dude and his record was top three for me last year.  I'd love to hear him on the Best Show, I think he and Tom would be great.

TRIVIA: Matt and Tom were the two special guests on the Am I Right?? funding drive show.

Oh, besides Tom, Matt was actually my favorite interview that I heard on your podcast. The 3 of you were riffing of of each other so well it was just like listening to 3 old friends joke around. The Kenny (Vs. Spenny, I forgot his last name) interview was disturbing though, funny but disturbing.

Our station's version of the marathon. Tom came on for a bit to help train me into getting pledges. Matt Braunger also called in to speak for a bit.

Here it is: http://cjsw.com/podcasts/amiright/2009-10-28.mp3

Thank you reeleyes - that is very nice of you and it is much appreciated. That Braunger episode was SO MUCH fun to do, and I'm happy to hear you liked it. Your timing is perfect, too, because just last night a friend used that episode as the perfect example of why our show needs to be more tightly edited!

And sorry to all for the derail, but I'm interested to hear more about the disturbingness of the Kenny episode - that one has really divided people that listened to it. Listeners either loved him or really didn't and they mostly cited the same reasons for both... What did you think??
