Check it.

Dang it, I'm running a race that evening, otherwise I'd go ...

There's a show in Milford CT on the 18th too! I'll be there, even if it looks like I might be by myself. (Last time I went to see Ted Leo in CT alone, ~4 summers ago at a festival that was happening in Bridgeport for some reason, my parents insisted on coming with me... embarrassing.)

btw, does anybody know what went so terribly for Ted in Europe? Seemed really beat up about it on twitter & an interview I saw.

I won't deny that they're pretty great in general, but that particular time had everything to do with not letting me go to Bridgeport by myself at age 16 and nothing to do with Ted Leo.

13 people showed up in Coventry. Surprised they played there, rather than the much-larger Birmingham.
And it sounds like the flight back home was a disaster. On Steve's birthday!

Ugh - I've heard variations on this from other bands before, where the big UK tour starts out great in London, packed house, etc, and then as they move out into the country and hit other towns the audience levels drop off so sharply it's like a return to amateur status.

Yeah, and they also played Plymouth. I was at the Newcastle show and the attendance was less than ideal but is it really just numbers? I can't imagine that so many people turned out in 2005 or 2008 and have now all fled (although the shows I was at had decent attendance they were in London so that is different). Or maybe it was a bad experience before also.
