« on: June 03, 2010, 01:12:30 PM »
Hey NYC/NY/CT (that's fer you Kiemzi) FOT types ... youse know about this, right?

http://www.haydenplanetarium.org/resources/starstruck/manhattanhenge/

Who wants to get together on Sunday 7/11 at sunset for a little woo-woo sunset action?

Shall we meet for a soda and then go see the sunset, and then, you know, go have another soda?

Also, if it helps any, this doesn't have to be a close-down-this-dump-of-a-bar kind of thing ... we can all meet up at sunset, go have a nice soda pop or two, and be home at a respectable hour.

We need photography nerds to come too ...

All right! The FOT was out in full force for PFT tonight, and if even an itsy bitsy sliver show up in a month to see the fucking sun go down, it will be big fun.

So this is next Sunday, and I'm bomping this thread ... Who's in, where do youse want to meet and when?

According to the website listed earlier:

For best effect, position yourself as far east in Manhattan as possible. But ensure that when you look west across the avenues you can still see New Jersey. Clear cross streets include 14th, 23rd, 34th. 42nd, 57th, and several streets adjacent to them. The Empire State building and the Chrysler building render 34th street and 42nd streets especially striking vistas.

What are good meet up spots on the East side at 14th, 23rd, 34th, etc?
