I saw BB at a Cardinals game a couple weeks ago. (This IS NOT a brag--that guy seriously chaps my ass.)

He's still rail-thin. That ain't him.

i feel like those pictures have a story. a story we are not being told

Here's the story, as related to me in Tweet form by Jillian Barberie herself:

Fredericks was hanging out with Armitage Shanks. He wanted to know if he could join them onstage. Dick Slum, the Shanks' frontman, agreed, as long as Fredericks adhered to the band dress code - a white dress shirt and black tie. Later, Armitage Shanks were halfway through their set when Fredericks jumped onstage wearing a tuxedo shirt and black bow tie. Dick explained the situation to the audience and invited Fredericks to say a few words. He approached the microphone, yelled "I LOVE PUNK ROCK!" and jumped offstage.

I was there. I saw it go down. I had no idea that was Fredericks.
It ain't ego, it's my love for you.

That story is nearly correct.

I told Dick I had brought a shirt like his on the trip.  He said he was preforming the next night and if I had a black tie he wanted me to join them on stage.  I told him my shirt had ruffles he said, "Well, then, you must wear a bow-tie."   I tried the Goodwill to no avail.  Had breakfast and figured fate was against it.  Then quite synchronistically,  After missing one of many turns, I found myself turning around in the parking lot of a formal wear place.   Ten dollars later, I owned my first bow-tie.   I paid five times as much for the tie as the shirt.

About halfway through the show,  some Japanese thug pushed me over onto the stage.  I reached out to Jillian to assist me.  She took two steps backward and forcefully motioned toward the stage.  I obeyed.  I had no idea Dick was going to offer me the mic.  Uncharacteristically, I said exactly what I was thinking at that moment.

I had heard of the Shanks before but didn't know their music until this weekend.  Wow!

They remind of when I was a teenager.

I believe that is one Beatle Bob.  Post the Fredericks pics!

Is that the same Beatle Bob that I saw at shows in St. Louis 15-20 years ago? Good for him. It's better to burn out than to fade away.
That's how I pictured him too!! And I just saw the video of Spike on Youtube and I fell off my chair!!! Not what I expected.

I had a moosestash!

Very neatly trimmed.  I wouldn't lie to Tom and Jen.

i love this thread.

it's like a thread about Elvis sightings with Elvis contributing and obfuscating--intentionally and unintentionally.

it's like every time there's a funeral on my dad's side of the family.
I can hear you judging me.

I have some photos for you, Mr. Who.  Get in touch.

It was great meeting you.  Or did I?

Who was that finely attired gentleman if not me?
