I figure it's a KKK reference. Maybe he's super into gay skinhead pornos. I know I had my phase.

I so utterly regret not meeting you in person when I was in Miami.

I actually wasn't kidding. I've been racking my brain all week long trying to remember the name of this heavily pierced German skin who moved to the very top of my unattainable crush list. I don't remember the names of the movies, either, because I'm not exactly fluent in German.

There's a pretty interesting article at Queerty on the subject, if you're curious. Warning: there's some wang a couple of page scrolls down. It's the cover of Bruce La Bruce's Raspberry Reich, and it's not explicit or anything, but it's wang nonetheless, so click the link at your discretion. Also, be sure to read the comments for rumors regarding the sexual orientation of the fellow who owns skinheads.net.

I don't pretend to understand the concept of gay skinheads or, for that matter, SHARPs. Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice sounds pretty stupid to me. I do know that the few SHARPs I knew of were pretty homophobic, but there was an uneasy alliance between the skins and the gays in Miami. The best punk shows during the nineties were at Cheers, which was a lesbian bar during the week and an all ages punk rock club on the weekends. A very nice lady named Gaye owned the place. If memory serves, the club was shut down due to some sort of liquor license kerfluffle. I think it was because of the crusty punks who would buy booze at the gas station across the street and get smashed in Cheers' parking lot. Sucky. I miss the place.

Well... I guess we still have Churchill's, eh? I've seen Iggy Pop catch a show there about a dozen times in the past few years, which is pretty cool. Also, the gals at Sweat Records set up shop there, so that's pretty cool.

Edit: Jesus CHRIST, this post was filled with typographical errors.

A lesbian bar owner named Gaye? Amazing.
"Alright, well, for the sake of this conversation, let's say the book does not exist."

You know that "Party Jamz" store off of US1 on 17th Ave? That was Cheers. I miss it dearly, and I get a little choked up whenever I drive by it.
