I'll take your word for it, bc. In that case, it may have been regular Miller cans (both had gold cans). Or, perhaps, NJ was a trial state for Genuine Draft and we got to sample this delicious drink before it went nationwide.

Interestingly, it was originally called "Miller High Life Genuine Draft" and is only a cold-filtered version of the original.  The original, by the way, generally wins every blind taste test of awful American beers.
