I'll be at the 11 most likely.
Connie's rules. I host a show there every month called Bedtime Stories.
It's owned by the Tartaglia family. Frank was in on the ground floor when UCB started offering classes. He was also on that old Jake TV show that Jake Folgenheist hosted when he was a kid.
Connie is Mrs. Tartaglia. She used that space as a kind of "junk" shop where she sold all kinds of stuff. But then she started making all of her money on e-bay so the space was vacant. They were going to lease the space out for it to be a laundromat but Frankie, his brother and a few of their friends instead asked to put together a theater there. They have more music there than anything but comedy is their main priority.
It's pretty miraculous that place exists. It opened about five years ago but got shut by the city about six months into being open for all kinds of violations and permit stuff. (Philly's L&I was shutting down a bunch of other squatty type of venues like the Danger Danger House in West Philly at the same time.) Team Ric Rac went through a lot of hell to get that place re-opened. I was in a sketch comedy group w/ Frankie that was supposed to have a bunch of shows there during the Fringe Festival. We literally found out the day of the first show that they got a temporary license to reopen.
