Inside the Phone Room at the Best Show Marathon Show 3 1, 2011

I worked the phone room for The Best Show's Marathon pledge drive show. This is the 3rd year in a row for me. I had lots of fun and took more calls this year than in the past 2.
The total for the end of the show was over $81,000. Not bad for 3 hours of pledge driving.
I had a great time and there were many great people to work with. It was an honor to work with the one and only Tom Scharpling once again.

Neat to see, thank you for sharing.

I thought about calling to pledge but my lurker nature drove me to the website.  With little pangs of guilt when Tom noted the phones weren't ringing.

This was a lot of fun! I was nervous about making sure I didn't mess anything up, but I was pretty far at the end of the phone chain that after the first half hour or so, it wasn't as crazy for me.

My first call ended up being someone I know. I also got a call from someone who immediately insisted "I'M PLEDGING! But first tell Tom that HE HAS TO PLAY THIS ENTIRE SONG." (while Queen was playing)

I only got this first Best Show shift, but I'm looking forward to helping out with the marathon a little more before it's over.
