I thought I missed my chance on everything, since I'm visiting Seattle (actually in the airport to go home now) and the record store I chose to go to, Georgetown Records, didn't actually have any stuff. I bought some records from them, but as they're a mostly used shop they didn't get any special record store day records. The super nice people there, though, gave me a bunch of swag and are shipping my records as well as stuff from Fantagraphics back home for me.
But then I totally scored Thee Oh Sees singles comp, a Davids Town, and a Moves single, from Everyday Music and Wall of Sound elsewhere in town. Sonic Boom was picked over, dry as a bone by noon.
I actually had heard a record store employee looking for a Davids Town with a customer--but then I found it in a bin they had not yet scoured. Dog eat dog world, my friend. But I had to make sure to ship it back to myself from a FedEx Kinko's, to keep it from falling into enemy hands.
I have a lot of forthcoming praise for the FOTs who gave me Seattle advice.
