Wait, how old is Petey? My family didn't get a PC until I was 13. That PC was an AST. You can read about AST on their Computer Information Web! It's on one of the internets, which is not a dumptruck, but a series of tubes.

I've been reading Brian Michael Bendis's Powers, and all of the Powers staff wrote about things they're really into lately in the back pages of a recent issue.

My interest in Powers waned, but early on it was an awesome book, jeepers it was great!

Actually, I do learning how to use the abacus in grammar school.  (The slide rule, which came later, was a revelation.)  And I used an adding machine very much like the one pictured both in community college and at one of my early jobs (in the billing department of a patent law firm in NYC).  I also had a job as a keypuncher once.
