Over the last two months I traveled across Europe and part of the Middle East and I always had TBS with me in one way or another. I spent the majority of the two months hitch hiking, walking and sometimes riding trains across Europe and Turkey. Prior to my departure I made sure my iPod had all of the available Best Show episodes and TBS Gems uploaded to revisit some favorites or finally listen to something I might have missed. While traveling I stayed with people I had arranged stays with before leaving and stayed with some people I met on the road. Those who had a firm grasp on the English language would often ask me what I was listening to or why I would have a huge grin on my face, and I would always reply "do you enjoy a good laugh?" to which was always replied with a "yes", and then TBS would be introduced.
On Wednesday mornings I would download the new episode and put it on my phone so I was able to keep up with the "current events."
I know that TBS has been criticized for being "too local", which we all know isn't true (frequent calls from England, Australia and New Zealand among others), but now TBS has fans in Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Turkey. TBS haters might think we act local, but we're doing things global.
