Tom Scharpling Podcast Interview
« on: November 10, 2011, 04:14:15 PM »
Hey, guys!

We had the immense pleasure of speaking to Tom last week on our podcast, and we thought our fellow FOTs may be interested in checking it out.

Our show is called Beginnings. On the show we talk to creative people that we admire about their personal connection to making things as well as about their earliest creative endeavors and how those experiences set them on the path to creating for a career. We had a great time talking to Tom. In addition to Tom's creative past as a 7-year-old writer of Spider-Man novelizations, we discuss the possibly fraudulent origins of soda, and Tom challenges us to a rousing game of Make Me Laugh!

Awesome interview. The "Baleful" joke made me laugh.

Good interview, and some interesting news at the end about Tom's new podcast.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Nice interview.  Some odd sound issues here and there, though, with people sounding like they're stepping out of the room every now and then.

Also, it's very cool of Tom (and Jon) to be so available for interviews and stuff these days.
If I tried, I could probably make at least six figures for shaking my moneymaker.

Hey all, Andy, the other host of Beginnings, here. Every other week we do a shorter podcast called Beginnings Field Guide where we talk to the previous week's guest about a specific thing they've created. They then walk us through the creative process. This week, we talked to Tom about the trailer he made for John Hodgman's book.
