I have every episode piled up in my computer and I've watched nary a one.  I do, however, mourn the passing of @PazDeLaH on Twitter.

I thought season 1 was an empty exercise of style over substance. This season, however, has been fantastic. They really got a hold of the themes and characters and are playing them for all their worth.

give it a chance
it's kind of slow but once it gets going...

but if you're like Paul there and don't like the old timey or the idea of lesbian flappers doesn't intrigue you then it may not be for you.
That's exactly the kind of stuff I love.

Oh, I plan to.  I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet (I'm behind on Breaking Bad and Mad Men, too).  One day, the mood will strike, and I'll gobble up all the episodes in a row.  That's one of my favorite ways to watch TV shows.

I gave up after the scene in Episode 6 or 7 where the disfigured dude kills someone and then the Phantom of the Opera theme plays. The writers can't do that and expect people to still watch their show.

That won't faze me:  I kept on watching Battlestar Galactica after the "All Along the Watchtower" episode.

Is that what it was? I thought all the music in the show was time period appropriate.

It's a piece by Bach rather than a theme written for the movie, so it doesn't break their "no music made after 1920-whatever" rule -- they are referencing a movie from the '60s, though, which should earn them some sort of penalty. I'm surprised you guys didn't immediately recognize it as the Phantom of the Opera music -- I've never even watched the movie, but I've seen the music used in countless parodies (mainly in cartoons) since I was a kid.

In case anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, this is the music in question:

Bach, Toccata and Fugue in D minor, organ
