So, I've been checking Last.fm's
event listings periodically, and I've discovered that there are no less than FOUR cruises scheduled to go out in January 2008. It's kind of Mother 13-ish, no?
So, we've got some Rhythm & Blues cruise thing, which I can't really comment on since I'm not familiar with any of the musicians attending. Then we have "The Rock Boat," which is borderline ridiculous. Toad the Wet Sprocket and Sister Hazel? Ooh boy. Then those Canadian people -- who I'm sure are very nice people, I guess, but I have no interest in listening them live let alone going on a Carnival cruise with them -- Barenaked Ladies have some sort of thing called "Ships and Dip" with a bunch of bands I've never heard of.
Then, well, there's
The Ben Folds Experience, which I'll confess having some interest in attending, as I have a soft spot for Ben Folds which only grew when he covered Snoop Dogg's "Bitches Ain't Shit." Also, the fellow behind Clem Snide will also be on the Carnival Imagination with Le Folds. I love Clem Snide, especially their cover of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," as well as their songs "Exercise" and "I Love the Unknown." Don't hate.
