The Wall (jr)
« on: October 23, 2012, 01:01:27 PM »
Hi fellow FOT.

Given Tom's recent discussions of the various productions of Pink Floyd's "The Wall," I was moved to capture this old thing off of some videotapes from my high school days, and I thought you all might get a larf out of it.

In 1991, my high school rock band put on a production of "The Wall" in its entirety. The school orchestra and many members of the choir joined in. We actually built a giant styrofoam wall on stage.

Yes, there is a part of me that thinks this might fit in better musically on Irwin's show -- but if you want to see a bunch of suburban 15 and 16-yr-olds with bad haircuts and questionable credibility rocking their way through The Wall as best as they can, please feel free to watch below.

Massapequa High School - The Wall - Pt 1

note: I've only uploaded 2 segments so far -- up through "Another Brick...Pt 2." The uploads take a crazylong time, so I'll be uploading the rest of the show -- including the can't-miss "Trial" -- in the coming weeks.

Enjoy!

This isn't bad at all, I think you captured the grandeur of it at least. The singer can't do the high notes but other than that you kinda nailed it. Also your teacher was a total fox!

For high school, this is amazing. You would have ruled my school.

The coolest thing we ever did in our high school rock band was perform "Franklin's Tower."  WELL DONE!

Thanks everyone! Yeah, it was one of those things where we didn't know what the hell we were doing, really, and it's kind of astonishing that it came together the way that it did... One of my fonder memories of high school, to be sure.

For those interested parties: the performance has been posted in its entirety (in 9 segments).

The easiest way to access them is probably through my youtube channel at:

Song listings for each segment are posted in the descriptions below each video.

Please enjoy.
