Sporcle quiz
« on: July 22, 2013, 12:53:58 AM »
Hi!  Here's a Sporcle quiz I did.  It's set to private so sending link.   Hoping they change it over to public in next day or so.

There's also a good one here. I'm convinced that the answer he has for the name of the Ted Leo song is incorrect, but that has to be a common thing with Sporcle.

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Sporcle made my quiz public.  It would be an easier, better game if it was just one letter of the alphabet and the player could guess any of 3 bands with that letter to be right, but I couldn't figure that out.  If someone does, please let me know.  I searched for info on the forum but nothing suggested worked.  Contrary to the existence of the quiz, I do have a life.

Both quizzes make me realise that I need to delve further into the archives.

Other Sporcle ideas you can take on so I don't have to:

 - songs covered by Zachary Brimstead Esq.
 - subjects of selected "Sucks" songs
 - other Newbridgean quotes
 - the love life of Sheila Larson.

Did somebody say, "time to revive one of buffcoat's long-despairing favorite threads?" More or less, they did!

It won't work on Sporcle, but that's ok.

I ended up getting 22 of these. I missed the soul singer, the nu-metal band and the red-band trailer on Mike's Zune tattoo.

The stats, children, the stats! I looked at the stats for the quiz.

The questions I missed were the #3, #4 and #8 most missed questions.

The most missed question among everybody who took the quiz is because it dates back so far. I have that song occasionally pop up on my iPod, so that one was easy for me. The second most-missed question was very obscure, but it came from a call that I listened to last week, so I was able to remember it.

19 out of 25. I think it should be 20, due to a spelling disagreement regarding question # 7, the Ted Leo song.

Seconded.

Turlit? Isn't it Turlet?

Actually, minus points to sporkle for that being an issue

It works whether you put turlit or turlet in, and I think it always has. I remember getting that question right when Harry first posted the quiz on twitter. If anyone's creating a sporcle quiz here are some things they should know:

* articles like "the," "and," and (I think) "is" don't need to be put in the answer
* you can allow alternate spellings with slashes
* the first sub-answer in any answer slot is what exactly will display to quiztakers

So if you wanted that Ted Leo song to be spelled out fully and work for both turlit and turlet, you can set the answer as:

The World is in the Turlet/world in turlit

On the A-Z bands quiz, are those bands that were played within a certain time frame? I was plugging in names I know Tom has played frequently and they weren't correct.

Also, you misspelled Ty Segall's name. I would have gotten 12 correct if not for the spelling error. Dem's da breaks.  :D
