Doug Ellin Is A Moron I Think
« on: June 10, 2007, 10:28:59 AM »
In today's Times Magazine (the cotton candy extra that comes in Sunday's Times) there is an interview with Doug Ellin, the creator of Entourage.  Here's an excerpt in case you don't feel like clicking the link.

NYT: “Entourage” is itself a study in “shortcut culture,” to coin a phrase. The male characters don’t work very hard, except at playing video games and having casual sex and wanting to be famous. Is the show intended as a sendup of Hollywood excess?

Doug Ellin: No. In fact when we first started, HBO would say satire, and I said this is not satire. This is scripted reality. I consider the show 100 percent realistic. I have friends who wake up in the morning and want a Bentley and they go get it. I find it funny.

Well, at least there was this:

NYT: How would you feel if your kids turned out like the guys on “Entourage”?

DE: I’d kill myself.

Doug Llewelyn is a moron *I* think.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

as for nytimes sunday fluff, i preferred the cross comparison of the final installment of Harry Potter to the finale of the Sopranos, at least in the

Imagined dialogue from "Harry Potter" that could be in "The Sopranos"

"The point of the game is to throw the jamook through the goomah before the other team's mortadellas catch you"
