Yet to listen to the latest Best Show, but my head seriously hurts now. I can't understand how so many people would think that he meant he's good at sleeping. This is bizarre.. it's like one of those ink blots where everyone sees different things.

There's something fishy going on here. I remember hearing this on the show on tuesday and, despite being very drunk, I knew I'd read it somewhere before.

Wow, I always thought it meant he excelled at sleeping also. I'm shocked to see I seem to be in such a huge minority when I didn't even consider that it meant he dreamt of being a viking. I guess I can't wrap my head around the idea of people controlling what they dream about, like Ralph aparently can. I actually had a dream last night that I was ten years older and I had become an overweight hockey fan and reverted back to my old 6th grade haircut. I would have prefered to be a viking.

Yes, considering that this episode is 12 years old and the movie is out next month, I'm a little suspicious too.

I refuse to weigh in on this beyond my initial weighing in. Yeesh, talk about running something that doesn't matter into the ground.

And who is that animal over at Maxiumum Fun who won't accept me as an authority on anything?

You need to realize who you're messing with, son.

I've believed since the episode first aired that it meant he was good at sleeping and my life has been better for it.  Subtly, perhaps, but better.

Would people over-analyze this shit if he had said, "Sleep! That's where I'm a pirate!"? Seriously, guys. How could it be anything but the obvious?

Because Ralph uses twisted Ralph logic.

But Ralph is also not very smart. Was there a hidden meaning when he said that his cat's breath smells like cat food? Or that he bent his wookiee?

What if Ralph had said he's a merchant marine in his dreams? Or a fireman?

I need to stop thinking about people over-thinking this crap.

A joke I never got was at the end of Groundhog Day when Andie Macdowell sez "let's not spoil it" to Ned the annoying guy.

What?  Why is that funny?  Am I moron for not getting it?  The fuck?

All it would take would be for him to see a drawing of a viking and think "vikings are big and strong and conquer stuff" (I believe that's also how Timmy Von Trimble got started). The only task poor, befuddled Ralph can conquer is sleep.  I'm amazed that no one has written a thesis about this for their college "Simpsons and Philosophy" class.

Exactly! BUT! Apparantly, in the foreign versions of this episode, the translations are along the lines of "sleep! I'm good at that!".

During the listening party last week, I turned to someone standing next to me (was it you, Patrick Chew? Or Dorvid Barnas? I can't remember), and I said, "I always assumed Ralph meant he dreamt of being a white supremacist." I'm hilarious.
