I just finished my sound collage in tribute to the return of Tom and The Best Show.  I included some classics and mixed in some of my own clips that I think are worthy.  Happy Halloween!

I'm hoping it doesn't mean this. I feel like, if the show was going to be delayed, he would be less cryptic about it. (i hope  :-\ )

I hope that Tom will take on Lost On the River: The New Basement Tapes when the show returns.  This one hits on a number of Best Show sore spots. T-Bone Burnett produces; Elvis Costello and members of Mumford and Sons contribute; the songs are based on unseen Dylan lyrics; and the whole thing is an attempt to replicate the Basement Tapes, perhaps the most overrated project in rock history.  It's tailor-made for a third-hour Best Show rant.  It's only missing a Tom Waits vocal.

Love it when Tom takes on things that people like largely because, "as a smart person, I'm supposed to like this, right?"  (Tom Waits, that Dylan I'm Not There movie, etc.) T-Bone Burnett and Elvis Costello are pretty perfect for that category.

I inquired w/ WFMU re: Terre's absence from the new schedule and was told she did not apply for a show.  So, maybe.  Who knows.
