I'm honestly too bitter about the messy breakup of Pavement to be a Steve Malkmus and the Jicks fan.

Steve Malkmus: you're disowned!
(Until you do a Pavement reunion of course.)

AND Smashing Pumpkins died in 1997. As did Weezer.

Wait, whuuuuuuut??
I don't know if we can be friends any more.
Messy Breakup?  It was just a passive aggressive breakup.  Pixies was break up by fax!  (not that I actually listen to Frank Black, but...)

yeah...

Did you see any of the last Pavement shows? I saw a few on tape and a few live in 2000 and Malkmus was a total douche. He could have made those shows something special. Instead he got super drunk and mumbled into the microphone. I knew they were going to split for a while anyway, but I think his behavior sealed the deal for a solid breakup with little to no chance of getting back together.

I'm done with that man. DONE. I listen to Pavement but not his solo stuff.

Oh, and PS. You know you still love me. We're FOT. A FOT is a FOMine.

Was one of those shows up at the Recher Theater, in Towson? With the White Stripes opening? That was a pretty bad show all around, except for the part where they gave away a pair of tennis shoes.

yep! That's the one. And a few I saw on tape after the fact. Kinda sealed the deal for me that Malkmus is an a-hole. To their credit, I saw Pavement play the DC show in the fall prior to them breaking up and that was a very very good show. But still, I'm done with the dude. No Jicks for me.
