Every year I listen to this entire list (at least what's on Spotify and/or the ones I already own), even the metal. This year I'm struck by how many metal bands begin with the letters "A" and "B." As god (or Satan) is my witness, I will make it to that Bob Mould record.

Thank you for your devoted studies to The Only List That Matters. I should note that I modified the original post to include a Bonus selection. #101: GG King - Unending Darkness (Scavenger of Death). I intended to catch up with this one prior to issuing the final list but forgot to do so.  I've since done so.

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Various Artist - Warfaring Strangers: Darkscorch Canticles
Essential Numero Group reissue compilation. If you like songs about wizards, dragons, and death that sound like they were recorded by the stoners from your high school in their dad's garage... this collection is for you.

I spent most of the year with the New Pornographers, War on Drugs, and Guided By Voices. It looks I slept on a lot of good metal and hiphop.

But I've been liking that YOB album this month. It's nice for listening to in the morning while the sheet of ice on my windshield defrosts.

Admittedly I haven't heard a lot of what has been mentioned but here goes:

- Sloan: Commonwealth
- Weezer: Everything Will Be Alright In The End
- The Notwist: Close To The Glass
- Windings/LandLovers: Split LP

And lastly, it wouldn't be right if I didn't rate my own album highly, which I do.
- Anthony Mackey: Still Metal

Enough recs here to last me well into the new year!
Although I haven't gotten it in the mail yet, looking forward to the "lost" Del Shannon record that Trouble in Mind just re-issued; sort've like his Pet Sounds as described by the TiM website.
The Further Adventures of Charles Westover is a fantastic album. I'm excited for you. "River Cool" is my hit pick from that LP.
I've been thrilling to the Super Deluxe Edition of Velvet Underground's '69 s/t. It's always been my favorite VU album, and this set is great.

I have a very hard time finding contemporary Reggae (either too much dancehall or Buju Banton-influenced vocals) that I like, but Chronixx's Dread & Terrible is a really good.
"Dad gets mad."

Been listening to the Charles Westover LP non-stop since I got it.  It's just really catchy, creatively produced psych rock.  Doesn't follow the "concept" too far down the rabbit hole or anything.  Also great ballad moments like "Silver Birch" which gets a cool Zombies-like melancholy going.

no one mentioned the 'Nothing' album, "Guilty of Everything". I loved it. My fave album of the year, and the one i've played the most by far.
That then got me into Whirr (after a really good 4-track split EP they did with Nothing).

That Ex Hex album refuses to leave heavy rotation for me. Seriously special.
That's just the tip of the ice cube.
