Did I miss something here-- didn't he claim and defend in his first call that Amadeus was his first name?

I believe you're quite correct. Tom scoffed when Amadeus first called and he insisted that was his real name. Something about his mom performing the play or something, right?

To thicken this plot, I follow this dude on Twitter, and his handle leads me to believe that there's a "Nick" preceding the Amadeus as well.

I bet it's his middle name.

For shame.

Even more suspiciously, he was formerly someone else.

Isn't Nickamadeus just as weird?
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I'd say it's weirder.

I like that the Italian song was a cover of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over."
"Dad gets mad."

I had to sing along (in English, mind you)

Just hearing the Rocky theme on a wristwatch alarm (with the MegaBass option, of course) made me smile immediately.
Hearing the Ziegler 4th of July tales is the best.

Best:
-the idea of Spike writing names for "Wacky Packages" was hilarious.
-"Die commenter, die. right? Right Mike? Die. go kill this commenter Mike. Go get 'em. Mike will track 'em down." - Tom
-the Mr. and Mrs. Amadeus essay and poem submissions were amazing.
-"How was your 4th? You whip any M80s at cops?" - Philly Boy Roy

another great one

I'd really missed Roy. His whole call was a gem. I was listening to the show on an airplane, and I'm fairly sure I alarmed the people in my aisle during the story about Roy Jr's battery-skipping abilities.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

That's one of my mom's favorite songs. She says it reminds her of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, whoever they are.

I'm still a few weeks behind (and loving it).

I have to say that the guy with the Shaq conversation did a masterful job.  I've heard a lot of stuff like that, and this was top notch.
