Title: lyrics that make you feel physically ill
Post by: cutout on September 21, 2008, 09:57:56 PM
Porcupine Pie is way up there, but Black Eyed Peas' My Humps and all its references to "lumps".... I almost drove my car off the road the first time I heard it. I thought about calling a gastroenterologist.

Others:

Dan Fogelberg - Longer
Limp Bizkit - Nookie
Sammy Johns - Chevy Van
Any lyrics from the 70s that say "boogie woogie"

I like your pants around your feet
I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I love the powder on your nose

Ooooh
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed,
While you put me to the test
I like the wine stains on your dress

And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self respect
While you're passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

I love your pants around your feet
And I love the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I hate the places that we go
And I hate the people that you know
And I hate the way you can't say no

Limp Bizkit

I'm like a chain saw
I'll leave your ass raw

In googling the lyrics, I see now its "skin" your ass raw, not "leave", but since that was how I was always heard that line before becoming nauseated, I leave it in it's lyrically confused state. It doesn't change much anyhow.

Driving through town just my boy and me
With a happy meal in his booster seat
Knowing that he couldn't have the toy
Till his nuggets were gone
A green traffic light turned straight to red
I hit my brakes and mumbled under my breath
His fries went a flying and his orange drink covered his lap
Well then my four year old said a four letter word
That started with "s" and I was concerned
So I said son now now where did you learn to talk like that

[Chorus one]

He said I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo, I wanna be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
We got cowboy boots and camo pants
Yeah we're just alike, hey ain't we dad
I wanna do everything you do
So I've been watching you

We got back home and I went to the barn
I bowed my head and I prayed real hard
Said Lord please help me help my stupid self
Then this side of bedtime later that night
Turning on my son's Scooby Doo nightlight
He crawled out of bed and he got down on his knees
He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands
And spoke to God like he was talking to a friend
And I said son now where'd you learn to pray like that

[Chorus two]

He said I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo, I wanna be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
We like fixing things and holding mama's hand
Yeah we're just alike, hey ain't we dad
I wanna do everything you do
So I've been watching you

[Bridge]

With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug
Said my little bear is growing up
He said but when I'm big I'll still know what to do

[Chorus three]

Cause I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo, I wanna be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
By then I'll be as strong as superman
We'll be just alike, hey won't we dad
When I can do everything you do
Cause I've been watching you

Oh, the last ten years, it's been quite a trip
Over thirty-six-hundred spins around without a cosmic slip
But within the realm of our atmosphere
We're 'bout as out of whack as we've ever been in a million years
We watched the Y2K scare in a panic
An' we watched as time proved Nostrodamus wrong
An' we watched as Mother Nature shook the planet
An' cellular replaced the telephone
We lost Charlie Brown, Ray Charles an' Johnny Cash
We even lost Superman, mhm.

Well, the last ten years, look at the hills we've climbed
The best golfer's black, the best rapper's white an' it's about damn time
But we best beware, there's a brand new fight, you see
An' I hate to say we might be our own worst enemy
We watched Oklahoma sifting through the damage
An' we watched a US President get caught
We watched shareholders watch their savings vanish
We all cried when we watched those towers fall
We lost Minnie Pearl, Ron Reagan and Sam Ahan
We even lost Superman, mhm.

Expensive gas an' free downloads
The dot-com boom, an' reality shows
What's gonna happen next is anybody's guess
Satellite radio and hybrid cars
Hand-held computers an' a trip to Mars
It's all become a part of who we are
In the last ten years.

In the last ten years
We lost George Harrison, John Paul and June Carter-Cash
Hell, we even lost Superman
Gonna miss you. Chris...

silkworms, by guns n' roses
lyrics: axl rose
music:  chris pitman and dizzy reed

Listen motherfuckers to this song that should be heard
Thrown down in the gutter, it's more than you deserve
Kneeling fucking virgin, you know that's what you are
Pussy for a maggot, isn't that a shock

What can I do? With a bitch like you
You know that it's true
All I have I ask of you
I'll be dammed
If it's not true
A bitch like you

Get your head down in the sky
Fucking little schemer got yourself a broken heart
Syphilitic preachers baby I know who you are
Parasitic demons sucking acid through your heart

What can I do? With a bitch like you
You know that it's true
All I have I ask of you
I'll be dammed
If it's not true
A bitch like you

this song kind of sucks i think.  also, i think the lyrics 'pussy for a maggot' might be wrong because it doesn't make any sense to me.  you'd have to be retarded to trade a pussy for a maggot.  i think it's really 'pussy full of maggots.'  but we'll have to wait until the fourth volume of chinese democracy comes out to settle the debate.  axl said this song isn't going to make the cut for the first three volumes.

"My software's not compatible with you."

-Neil Young, Without Rings

Those lyrics show up in the middle of a beautiful acoustic song. And then he sings that. The song is ruined instantly.

To add to that:
"I like girls who wear Abercrombie and Fitch"

Also,
"What we are is what we are/and what we wear.... is vintage clothes."

If Superman existed in our world, and he died, would he make it into the Dead People Montage at the Emmys? I'm thinking it'd be a huge stretch to get him into the Dead People Montages at the Oscars or Grammys (unless he cut some kind of charity single), and he'd obviously be in all the news outlet years-in-review, but I bet they'd find a way to stick him in the Emmy Dead People reel, because he'd have been in the news all the time.

And if Superman did exist in our world, and did die, and did make the Emmy Dead People Montage, would he go last no matter what? He'd definitely get the biggest applause, and if he'd died this year, he'd get to go last over Carlin. But what if he happened to die in the same year as a legit TV giant? Superman or Newhart, who would draw the final spot? I don't think I'd want the job of whoever has to decide that kind of thing.

That's pretty tame as far as ODB lyrics go. How about this instead:

Pussy ain't nothing but your skin on your bones.
You can fuck it, you can suck it, you can leave it alone.
25 cents is the regular price
50 cents you can fuck it twice
75 cents you can fuck it to the bone
and a dollar's worth..LEAVE IT ALONE!
Title: Re: lyrics that make you feel physically ill
Post by: samir on September 22, 2008, 04:37:42 PM
Also, from the ODB canon:

I don't have a problem with you fucking me, but I have a little problem with you not fucking me.

Assuming Metropolis=NYC, Superman would have hosted SNL at least once. He might also have subbed for Letterman while he was recovering from bypass surgery.

If it's just that, Newhart wins. Superman's place hinges on this: Do the evil geniuses make the leap into the real world? Because if Superman got bored and went after copyright violators, he'd lead the montage at the Emmys, Grammys and Oscars.

That part in that Blues Traveller song where he's like "I like coffee and I like tea!!"

Dave Matthews Band:
Hike up your skirt a little more
And show your world to me
In a boys dream.. in a boys dream

This isn't really the same thing, but on the track "Bit Part In Your Life" off It's A Shame About Ray by the Lemonheads, that girl yelling "I just want a bit part in your life!!" in a faux-angry voice literally makes me tear up from embarrassment every time I hear it. I think it's maybe the worst thing recorded in the nineties.

Aerosmith - Big Ten Inch

got me the strangest woman
believe me this trick's no cinch
but I really get her going
when I whip out my big 10 inch

record of a band that plays the blues
well a band that plays its blues
she just love my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

last night I tried to tease her
I gave my love a little pinch
she said now stop that jivin'
now whip out your big 10 inch

record of a band that plays those blues
well a band that plays the blues
she just loves my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

I, I, I cover her with kisses
and when we're in a lover's clinch
she gets all excited
when she begs for my big 10 inch

record of a band that plays those blues
well a band that plays the blues
she just love my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

my girl don't go for smokin'
and liquor just make her flinch
seems she don't go for nothin'
'cept for my big 10 inch

record of a band that plays the blues
band that play the blues
she just love my big 10 inch
record of her favorite blues

For the record, that particular line was a Beastie Boys line first. Not sure if that's braggable or not, but it's true.

This was never the way I planned
Not my intention
I got so brave, drink in hand
Lost my discretion
It's not what, I'm used to
Just wanna try you on
I'm curious for you
Caught my attention

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chap stick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

No, I don't even know your name
It doesn't matter,
You're my experimental game
Just human nature,
It's not what,
Good girls do
Not how they should behave
My head gets so confused
Hard to obey

The stupidest thing about that song is that Jill Sobule had a hit 13 years ago with the exact same song title. And yet Katy Perry seems to regard herself as some sort of brash, provocative groundbreaker. To give her some credit, she's broken ground  in discovering new depths of pop-culture lameness.

Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs just so my

Chickity china the chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin
Watchin x-files with no lights on, were dans la maison
I hope the smoking mans in this one
Like harrison ford Im getting frantic
Like sting Im tantric
Like snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like kurasawa I make mad films
Okay I dont make films
But if I did theyd have a samurai
Gonna get a set of better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs just so my
Irons arent always flying off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with sailor moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing

This song by a band called the Submarines gets played a lot on the fake indie rock station:

Plastic Bottles
Imported Water
Cars we drive wherever we want to
Clothes we buy it's sweatshop labor
Drugs from corporate enablers
We're not living the Good life
Unless we're fighting the Good fight
You and Me just trying to get it right

In the center of the first world
It's laid out before us, who are we to break down?

Everyday we wake up
We choose Love
We choose light
And we try, it's too easy just to fall apart

Love can free us from all excess
From our deepest debts
Cause when our hearts are full we need much less

Yea i know we long for something fine
When we pine for higher ceilings
And bourgeois happy feelings

But Here we are in the center of the first world
It's laid out before us, who are we to break down?

Here we are in the center of the first world
It's laid out before us, who are we to break down?

Everyday we wake up
We choose Love
We choose light
And we try, it's too easy just to fall apart

Whats that 80's Greg Allman song that goes "Let me show you my tattoo" awful?

I kissed a girl and I liked it

The stupidest thing about that song is that Jill Sobule had a hit 13 years ago with the exact same song title. And yet Katy Perry seems to regard herself as some sort of brash, provocative groundbreaker. To give her some credit, she's broken ground  in discovering new depths of pop-culture lameness.

It's true. And I actually really liked Jill Souble's song. I had that whole album (I was 13, what can I say?) and I remember enjoying it.  Katy Perry makes me ill, but I still think she's kind of hot...?

"I'm No Angel"

What is wrong with me that I retain that information?

For the record, that particular line was a Beastie Boys line first. Not sure if that's braggable or not, but it's true.

And LFO quoted Eric B. & Rakim with "I came in the door/I said it before," which makes them even more objectionable.

There's also Warren G.'s line "What's next, what's next, what's N-X-E-T," although that might be more teeth-gnashing than illness-inducing.

A church in Columbus apparently doesn't like the song either.

New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits / Chinese food makes me sick.

To add to that:
"I like girls who wear Abercrombie and Fitch"

Also,
"What we are is what we are/and what we wear.... is vintage clothes."

I think the line "We used to be in love, girl, but now we aint speakin'/Michael J Fox played Alex P Keaton" somehow manages to redeem the rest of the lyrics. I feel as though you almost have to admire the chutzpah of writing something so completely stupid. It's part of the reason I love Angry Samoans. (And maybe the reason Metal Mike Saunders loves all that Disney pop.)

Welcome to my world.
